Heavy Duty Polyethylene Battery Box
 
These battery boxes are designed to hold an assortment of batteries
and are made from high
density 3/16 ths of an inch polyethylene (HDPE) sheets.
We offer five popular sizes,
but can supply you with custom sizes
made to your specifications. Just Email, or send us your drawings
for an estimate.
The box has an insulated base with removable middle section that
minimizes lifting easy battery installation. The plastic is easy to drill
with hole saw to attach conduit fitting for inverter cables.
A hydrogen vent
tube in the top should be extended to exterior of building. A drain in the
bottom section makes it possible to wash batteries.
Our best selling box holds 8 L-16 batteries, has an insulated base
and a drain fitting so you can actually wash off your batteries. These
boxes are a neat, clean, safe and professional alternative to site-built
plywood boxes.
Battery boxes without the drain do not have the corner legs or the two
sheet of insulation shown in the above photos.
The above battery boxes show a bottom tray
with a sleeve which
fits in the tray. This is an older design and these boxes now just the
base with a top which fits over the base (box), eliminating the extra piece, thus cutting down on the
thickness.
Custom Sizes can be made to meet your requirements.
Email
us with your specifications and we will email your a quote. Please note that if this
is the first time this size box has been ordered, there will be a charge for
making a new jig. This fee usually averages about $35. We are
working on getting a listing of jig sizes from the manufacturer.
Please note, that delivery for Custom Sizes could take longer then the boxes
listed in the below box.
These boxes are shipped in three sections, (1) Base, (2) Middle
Section, and (3) Lid. We do this to protect the sides of the enclosure from
damage during battery installation and to make installing the batteries
easier. Once the batteries are in position on the Base, simply install the
Middle Section. Next connect the battery cables and drill two holes where
you want your connection cables to exit the box. Finally attached the lid
and you are done.

Many boxes are pre made and
ready to ship. Sometimes boxes have to be manufactured if out of stock.

Aluminum
Chest Style Battery Enclosures
Pad mount, chest style enclosures are manufactured with .125" 5052-H32
aluminum. All die marks and welds are sanded smooth and the boxes are
finished with a reflective bright white polyester powder coat to minimize
internal heat gain.
All enclosures are provided with integrated louvers
located to promote convective air flow through the enclosure to reduce
internal temperatures and to help prevent the buildup of gas fumes during
battery charging. We recommend that you might want to consider installing
a
Power Vent when installing in
a confined area or if the batteries are subject to excessive charging.
Filters are located over the
louvers to keep out dust and insects. The filters are removable for cleaning
or replacement.
All enclosures come ready for you to place your cable holes precisely
where you need them, making these chest available for other uses as well.
All standard enclosures are built to meet NEMA 3R
specifications.
Due to custom installation requirements,
these boxes do not come with
any pre-drilled conduit holes. This allows you to placing conduit holes
exactly where they are needed. Also allowing these boxes to be very
versatile for any installation and to be used for any number of
applications.
These chest make great dock side storage containers for items you
don't need on your boat when you are at sea.

The below battery enclosures were built for a customer
who cancelled their order. These are presently being stored outside on
pallets. They have their original packaging. When they arrived the
protective plastic shrink wrap had shown some UV damage from the sun so they
are now covered with tarps. They have to be shipped on a flat bed trailer.
We would like to sell all of them at the same time but are willing to split
them as indicated below.

Pole-Mount Aluminum Battery Boxes
Side-of-pole mount aluminum NEMA 3R hinged door boxes from Direct Power &
Water are available for several battery sizes and battery/equipment
configurations. They are made to order from 0.125" 5052-
H32 aluminum with white powder coating, and can be built to meet specific
application requirements.
 The doors have padlock hasps and stainless steel
continuous
hinges.
Each box has a removable control mounting plate, screened vents and
two 7/8" wire entrance holes.
Presently there is a 5 week lead time on these boxes.
